The Special Service Award recognizes and honors an individual for unusual and distinguished service to the organization. Nominations for this award may only be made by a member of the WVRA Executive Board.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR COMPLETING NOMINATION:
The individual making the nomination should submit a one-paged, typed rationale for recommending this person, including a description of this candidate’s contributions to the West Virginia Reading Association.
 

1. Attach three (3) letters of support from three different people.
2. Enclose a photograph of the nominee suitable for publication.
3. Person submitting nomination should complete the information at the bottom of the form and attach it as the last page of the nomination packet.
4. The nomination should be sent to the Citations and Awards Committee Chairman.  The nomination will be presented to the Executive Council for approval.
5. Include a cover sheet with the nomination letter that includes the name of the person submitting the nomination and pertinent contact information.
 
 

CRITERIA FOR WVRA SPECIAL SERVICE AWARD
The nomination letter should include:

• A description of the outstanding service provided to the organization.
• Service should be known to the membership and Executive Council of the organization.
• Service should be on going beyond time served in one particular role, office, or appointment in the organization.
